GE Honda Aero will open new headquarters in NC
Honda Aero, Inc. will build its new corporate headquarters and a jet engine manufacturing plant in Burlington, NC. Employing 70 associates, the plant will develop advanced, efficient GE Honda Aero jet engines that will be ready for production in 2010. Honda Aero plans to make 200 engines in the first year of production and will invest $27 million in the construction of the manufacturing facility and Honda Aero, Inc.'s headquarters. The construction of the facility will be completed by 2008 and will have a 58,400 square-foot production plant.
Tiger Truck to open manufacturing facility in Poteau, OK
Tiger Truck has announced plans for a 112,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Oklahoma. The selected location was formerly the home of Emerald Plastics. The multi-million dollar automotive assembly operation will bring 300 new job openings to the state and will be built to assemble off-road vehicles designed by ChangAn Automobile Group, one of China's largest vehicle manufacturers. Tiger Truck, established in 1999, has its headquarters in Dallas, TX, and has distribution outlets in Central America, the U.S, and the Caribbean. The primary markets for the equipment will be South America and Mexico.
Cybex expands manufacturing capacity
Cybex International, Inc., a leading manufacturer of premium exercise equipment, has announced the opening of a new $15 million, 340,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Owatonna, MN. The new facility is intended to develop Cybex's manufacturing and will also maintain its Owatonna employee base. The plant has 275,000 square feet of manufacturing space, 35,000 square feet of office space, and expansion space of up to 490,000 square feet. Cybex will continue to focus on manufacturing efficiencies, particularly a new $3.5 million powder-coat paint electrostatic system, robotic weld cells, and a tube laser.
