Worldwide Manufacturing wins $1 million bid
Worldwide Manufacturing USA, Inc. has announced their wining of a bid of approximately $1 million of stamping products for Gilbarco Inc., a large subsidiary of Danaher Corporation. Worldwide Manufacturing, the makers of die-casting, air-conditioning units for automobiles, and electronics products, will begin receiving the formal purchase orders with detailed delivery schedules in August. Gilbarco is a producer of a large number of gas pumps used by gas stations globally. Worldwide Manufacturing USA, Inc. has its headquarters in San Bruno, CA.
Von Roll USA plans expansion in Rotterdam
Swiss maker of electrical insulation products, Von Roll, announced that it would relocate its North American corporate headquarters from the state of Georgia to the company's manufacturing plant near Rotterdam Square Mall along Campbell Road. The company will also spend $20 million on expansion and modernization of the plant. With Von Roll's manufacturing expansion, 50 more workers will be employed over the next five years, adding to the 150 who currently work in Rotterdam. The manufacturing unit is one of the 19 plants owned by Von Roll worldwide. The company has four of its plants in North America.
SunPower opens 330 MW solar cell fabrication unit
Silicon Valley-based SunPower Corporation, a manufacturer of high-efficiency solar cells, solar systems, and solar panels, has announced the inauguration of its second solar cell fabrication manufacturing facility, known as Cell Fab 2, in the Philippines. The new manufacturing facility spanning approximately 463,000 square feet will be located in Batangas, south of Manila. The facility will house 10 solar cell production lines and will enable SunPower to manufacture the world's highest-efficiency solar cells. SunPower Corp. manufactures and delivers high-performance solar electric systems globally for commercial and residential, utility-scale power plant customers.
