ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The Human Resources Generalist will partner with the respective business teams to implement and administer HR programs in a variety of areas including recruitment, employee relations, talent development and Team Member (TM) retention. Tyson-Fayetteville is a Prepared Foods plant that employees over 750 Team Members (TM’s). The plant runs three shifts: production and sanitation on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts, generally Monday through Friday. In this role, the Generalist will partner with operations and have a relentless focus on creating a safe environment for our team. The successful Generalist will also focus on talent attraction, retention, development, and driving business results. This a busy and detail-oriented role, which requires both strong technical, leadership and enhanced communication skills. The ideal candidate is able to balance competing priorities, problem-solve, and work with a diverse body of stakeholders both in-plant and across the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Serves as the first line of support for day-to-day inquiries of TM’s and assists in coaching and guiding on routine matters.

o Participates as a strategic member of the Human Resources team and executes against organizational business plans.

o Supports the hiring process for all hourly positions; enabling staffing to achieve business success.

o Collaborates with leaders to develop and revise job descriptions, completing necessary job requisition forms to ensure timely posting of open positions, and participates in the talent selection process.

o Creates and presents classroom orientation and training.

o Performs broad professional human resources responsibilities to support policies and programs including orientation, compensation, performance appraisal processes, benefits management including annual enrollment, affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, compliance investigation and HRIS.

o Provides counsel in the interpretation and application of company policies through effective guidance for managers and TM’s ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.

o Owns administrative activities including HR reporting metrics verifications, headcount, exit process and employee transactions.

o Coaches to support leadership development, business decision-making and drive performance productivity.

o Champions the successful deployment of HR strategies in the areas of: safety, staffing, retention, onboarding, diversity and inclusion, TM engagement, recognition, leadership development, communications, compensation, and benefits initiatives.

o Accepts leadership role related to employee/labor relations processes which may include conducting investigations and administering disciplinary action as needed.

o Assists in building effective partnerships with community leaders and coordinates efforts with Public Affairs to enhance and sustain the Company's image within Tyson communities.

REQUIREMENTS:

o Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or related area required.

o 2 years of previous HR experience required. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment/plant a plus.

o Strategic thinker exhibiting intellectual curiosity, that thrives in a collaborative and teaming environment.

o Ability to develop and maintain strong, effective internal customer/business partner relationships.

o Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), interpersonal and influencing skills.

o Analytical skill set required to assess trends and themes and use data to formulate business solutions.

o Must be able to flex schedule to address issues at hand, as needed.

o Sense of urgency and ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

o General knowledge of Federal, State and Local labor laws required.

o Fluency with Microsoft Suite technology required.

o Spanish speaking language abilities preferred.

This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex. Priority consideration will be provided to these applicants first. If local Team Members are not selected, Team Members from other locations or external applicants will then be reviewed for consideration.
