PURPOSE AND SCOPE: Oversees production activities on the floor and ensures all production employees are following quality and safety rules while performing job duties effectively and efficiently. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts all product preparation as directed by Production and Quality procedures. Monitors product quality, identifies discrepancies and recommends solution. Understands and promotes continuous improvement. Ensures that necessary tools and materials are available for crews to accomplish tasks. Maintains all safety procedures. Performs certain preventative maintenance procedures that have been assigned to Operations. Maintains all batch paperwork, check weighing, and maintenance documentation, as required by Production and Quality procedures. Demonstrates, maintains and operates all production equipment and procedures. Monitors all computer operations. Responsible for continuous operation of all production equipment in order to maintain quality standards and levels in an efficient manner. Monitors all employees within the shift. Ensures that there is cooperation among crew members. Ensures all employees follow FDA & Health Canada GMP’s, SOP’s and Corporate Safety Policies. Assists in Validations as required. Assure Validation procedures are followed. Trains new employees on production methods & quality procedures as well as safety issues in their area. May act as an informal team leader and provides assistance to junior staff with support tasks that require considerable judgment and initiative. Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations. May escalate difficult/complex issues to supervisor for resolution, as deemed necessary. Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor. Other duties as assigned. Additional responsibilities may include focus on one or more departments or locations. See applicable addendum for department or location specific functions.
