This position resides within the Lubricants Supply Chain (LSC) organization with the primary objective of driving operational excellence within lubricants manufacturing plants located within the Americas Region with focus on HLP (Houston Lubricants Plant) and the Americas network.
What’s the role?
The right candidate is a learner who is collaborative, analytical, and has a track record of idea generation and execution in operations. This role has a combination of operations and commercial elements with some aspects of P&L accountability. This challenging and impactful role will (1) drive the operational excellence agenda at the lubricants plant(s) including HLP (Houston Lubricants Plant) and (2) lead network-wide best practice sharing and benchmarking analysis to generate ideas to support operational excellence while delivering end-to-end value to the business. The role fits within the Production Excellence team who plays a critical role in supporting the growth within Lubricants Supply Chain.
The key metrics within the team and are aligned with the LSC goals include and not limited to improving OEE, increasing capacity, reducing flush, creating value, supporting growth and volume, and supporting sustainability agenda.
In addition, specific responsibilities include the following:
Lead the PIMs benchmarking project on a biennial basis and become the Region’s knowledge base for the analytical assessment of the results;
Lead development and execution of plant performance improvement initiatives including capacity increase and flush reduction through use of business case development, Packaging & Blending OEE data and best practice sharing;
Lead and develop a consistent pipeline of value creation projects incorporating the results of the benchmarking study;
Utilize project management tools and techniques while driving accountability in project delivery.
Special Challenges:
Work across LSC Americas relying on excellent engagement and stakeholder management skills to drive improvement activities.
Heavy emphasis on plant production improvements driven by data analytics.
Comfortable with operations and evaluation of production equipment and processes.
Ability to evaluate applicability of global/industry practices with respect to LSC environment, and take the concept, adopt to the regional conditions/needs & bridge to implementation.
Skills & Requirements
What we need from you –
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
A bachelor’s degree required.
At least five (5) years of experience relating to manufacturing, supply chain, or engineering roles with focus on plant operations (e.g. Consumer Goods, Automobiles, Packaging (assembly line))
Knowledge of Supply Chain Management.
Build strong relationships, deliver effective coordination and alignment of improvement initiatives, and getting buy-in and endorsement from all key stakeholders.
Drive towards a culture where operational excellence is data-driven and continuous improvement is part of the way we operate to achieve optimum performance locally and globally whilst safeguarding the global standard designs.
Demonstrated Leadership effectiveness in driving local improvement projects / initiatives, with ability to influence outcomes, gain senior stakeholder support in setting business priorities and deliver results while leading and managing multiple objectives.
Experience in the application of continuous improvement processes and techniques.
Demonstrated strong analytical, interpretive and presentation skills; able to synthesize complex information and prepare concise, compelling presentation.
Ability to reduce complexity and generate practical, simple solutions in simple language to create a shared vision.
Demonstrated effectiveness in leading cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated strong process and project management skills.
