JOB PROFILE SUMMARY
Supervisor is responsible for directing the cleaning of plant production equipment and facility to meet food safety requirements as required by USDA, federal, state, and local regulations and customer quality and safety standards. Responsibilities include maintaining efficient production, product quality and production yields while ensuring a safe working environment. This position requires an essential understanding and control of the production and sanitation process, accurate record keeping and general line maintenance and staffing. The role supports the commitment and continual improvement to Safety, Food Safety and Quality programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Production/Sanitation Supervisor duties include:
Day-to-day sanitation of equipment and facility as required by position.
Responsible for meeting daily production schedules to ensure fulfilment of customer orders, confirming process order efficiency, process yields, and accurate and timely documentation.
Ability to control and understand the production process including labor rates, production procedures and specifications, as well as yield and efficiency expectations.
Maintaining all food safety and quality control specifications for sanitation and production including maintaining GMP’s, ensuring passing of pre-op USDA inspections, HACCP guidelines and complying with Master Sanitation Schedule
Training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Develops and maintains Standard Work Documents for all procedures under their control. Train and document all workers for the safe operation, including disassembly and cleaning of equipment as required by job duties.
Ensure compliance and training on all safety rules and standards including the proper use of personal protective equipment and LOTO procedures.
Responsible for knowing and communicating company updates, policies, and benefits.
Work closely with management, production team and outside sources to improve processes and reduce costs, using continuous improvement tool / methods.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
2 plus years of manufacturing experience in the food industry; Food industry sanitation experience preferred.
HACCP Certification preferred.
Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, SAP
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Supervisory ability: this position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.
Travel: Infrequent, 1 to 5 trips per year
