Crawford Industries, now a part of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., LLC has an opening for an Extruder Machine Operator on our team in Thomasville, GA.
The Thomasville operation of the organization specializes in food board plastic sheets for bacon, but there are all kinds of uses for the plastic sheet that is extruded in Thomasville. We use plastic sheet to make the lamp shades or dog collars for pets following veterinarian procedures, plastic signage or covers for date books, for example. We reuse our scrap plastic whenever possible to create our environmentally friendly products. We have a structured training program to assist a new operator in coming up to speed with our extrusion lines.
General Summary and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Sets up and operates assigned extrusion line to produce quality plastic sheet at established rates.
Key Responsibilities to include:
Reviews the process sheet for each job assigned to confirm that set-up and materials furnished will yield product required.
Machine Operators assigned extruder to produce quality sheet as specified on the process sheet at the established rate.
Performs safe start up and shut down of extrusion line machines as required.
Weighs, counts, and moves sheet to the proper area and labels with material load tickets with required information.
Keeps machine and area clean.
Keeps shift report up to date.
Reports mechanical problems to the Lead Extruder Machine Operator and/or shift maintenance.
Assists other operators as needed.
Accurately reports all direct and indirect labor activities.
Requirements
Required Skills/Experience:
High School diploma or experience demonstrating equivalent skills and abilities.
Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
Mechanical aptitude
Basic math skills
Able to read and use a tape measure and micrometer
Able to use a hand truck to move materials
Able to stand for extended periods of time in area where summer temperatures may exceed 110
This position reports to the Production Supervisor.
