SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for supervising the maintenance of production equipment, buildings and utilities, plant operation, hatchery, and truck shop. Supervision includes effective managing team member relations while maintaining the Tyson safety culture. Responsibilities include: assist with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions; ensure that all maintenance personnel are well trained on the most updated version of operating equipment as well as other maintenance skills; provide a safe workplace and comply with all safety and regulated programs; ensure proper operation of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner and identify issues; establish and maintain a computerized maintenance management system (SAP) for tracking work orders, adequate and appropriate inventory of replacement parts; make recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance related problems through analyzing data; ensure that all maintenance personnel are properly trained, equipped and motivated so maintenance programs and processes can be accomplished in a safe, timely and efficient manner; communicate to maintenance team members and provide the resources for skillsets, working with contractors, vendors or company engineering in the modification or installation of equipment, troubleshooting and resolving new and/or different technical problems regarding equipment, parts and supplies. Other responsibilities include maintaining relevant records, ensuring OSHA standards and programs are being implemented, instructing in the use of personal protective equipment and HAZMAT operations, coordinating team member schedules, handling clock reports and attendance records; holding monthly and daily safety meetings; MSDS: maintain MSDS binder for maintenance and enforce the policy; manage universal waste and hazardous waste: collect, ensure that all direct reports are correctly scheduled daily and follow up to ensure that proper procedures are followed. Must be willing to work variable hours and shifts; perform additional duties as assigned by management. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to multitask multiple projects and provide daily feedback to management.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Education beyond high school including special training vocational school and or college courses preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an industrial setting.

1-2 years of supervisory experience required, effectively leading a team

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Self-starter with the ability to follow up with vendors and parts suppliers.

Computer Skills: Average to above average in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook required. Knowledge of SAP systems preferred.
