CNC Manufacturing Engineer

Profile

POSITION DUTIES:

Responsible for developing 3D models, creating design layout, generating assembly and detailed drawings, identifying, and generating Bill of Material (BOM) of custom products as per customer requirements.

Design products for sheet metal and various fabrication processes by identifying requirements and following design for manufacturability practices.

Perform tolerance analysis to validate part dimensions, datum schemes, designed gaps and proper assembly by applying GD&T according to ASME Y14. standard for manufactured mechanical components.

Create CAM program for CNC laser and CNC turret press punch as per customer supplied drawings or shop-generated drawings.

Optimize cutting and punching toolpaths, modify G&M codes, and implement proper cutting strategy as per material type.

Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, processes and tooling strategies associated with CNC cutting & punching, Forming and Wielding operations.

Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements.

Keep the equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; requesting special services.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.

Knowledge or experience in Solidworks CAD software and Microsoft Office Suites of Products;

Knowledge or experience in CNC Programming, G&M CNC codes and GD&T ASME Y14.5;

Knowledge or experience in Mechanical System Design and Manufacturing Processes.
