Job Description:
The Learning Advisor administers and coordinates the Operations Departmental training program to ensure compliance with the Shell Polymers Monaca (SPM) Operations Training & Qualification Standards and provides support for other key learning and development programs.
The Learning Advisor will apply the Downstream Manufacturing - Training Standard and Training Specification for Operations to the assessment, design, creation, delivery and execution of training within his/her department.
Responsible to administer the Operations Technician Training process; for Initial Qualifications & 3 Year Re-qualifications.
Create and maintain training plans and training materials for each operating job in the department.
Coordinate efforts of Subject Matter Experts working to help create and maintain the training materials.
Participates in MOC process and attends department MOC meetings to ensure the appropriate level of training is applied for change; and works with SMEs knowledgeable of the change in coordinating the delivery of the training.
Ensure that MOC-driven changes are reflected in the training materials in a timely manner.
Establish annual training plan for department (including budgetary needs / impacts).
Coordinate departmental training plan to ensure optimum cross training is being leverage.
Present and explain Job Training Plans to each trainee at the start of initial job qualification training and the re-qualification study period.
Performs routine health checks to ensure training plans and training materials are being used; are fit-for-purpose; and for obtaining continuous improvement input from users.
Oversee Technician Training progress relative to departmental plans and provide feedback to trainee and supervision regarding performance vs. expectations.
Provide routine department training plan updates to Production Staff.
Provide support for the delivery of advanced and non-routine training events; i.e. LFIs, supplemental training sessions, Planned Unit Shutdowns & Startups, etc.
Coordinates department training schedule regarding all training involving Department members in an effort to improve efficiency, reduce cost and avoid schedule conflicts with other cross site training events.
Prepare for and attend Learning Team Meetings.
Performs periodic reviews of Training and Procedures Metrics assessing strengths and / or gaps related to the department (e.g. Procedure Usage, Trainee Feedback, Procedure Deviation, etc.)
Educates department employees on use of the training plans and training materials.
Focal point for ensuring all training records are maintained and routed appropriately.
Partner with front line leaders to ensure the development and maintenance of a performance culture within the operating department, and proactively look for opportunities to unlock enhanced performance through capability building
Coordinate department New-Hire process
Facilitate implementation of Global Standards & Specifications as related to learning and development
Functionally supports the department in the reviewing, editing, creating of Operating Procedures training.

Requirements:
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
High School Diploma with relevant working experience required. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Minimum four (4) years relevant professional experience.
Production experience is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to create technical documents. (Candidates selected for interviews will be asked to bring writing samples, e.g. procedures, training materials, etc.)
Experience with the delivery of process unit training (process, equipment, job tasks, procedures).
Effective Communication skills (written and oral).
Effective presentation and facilitation skills.
Proficient with various software programs (MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
Effective organizational and scheduling skills.
Demonstrates passion to help others succeed in the organization.
