Production Operator - 2nd and 3rd Shift Openings

Sensient Juneau is hiring for multiple 2nd and 3rd shift openings for Powder Bagging Operators, Evaporator and Spray Dryer Operators, and Relief Operators! Our plant specializes in bio-nutrients and processes autolyzed yeast and other yeast products as ingredients for the food and pharmaceutical industry. MAJOR DUTIES: Follow plant and special departmental GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety procedures Maintain department in neat, orderly, and sanitary condition Maintain all necessary documentation, records and charts Assume all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor Additional duties for Powder Bagging Operator: Adhere to proper packaging and labeling procedures as outlined in the packaging manual Utilize proper product sampling techniques Incorporate continuous process improvement in job assignment. (Required training will be provided) Additional duties for Evaporator and Spray Dryer Operator and Relief: Review process data, respond to control alarms and follow departmental operating procedures Utilize proper product sampling techniques, run pH tests and verify that all specifications are being met Give breaks to packaging operators Raise flags early for any safety, quality, or production concerns to the shift supervisors Provide relief across multiple departments, in accordance with training KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent Must have basic computer knowledge and skills Should possess basic math, reading, and organizational skills Good verbal and written communication skills Must be able to be certified for power fork lift operation (required fork lift training will be provided) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Able to lift up to 55lbs regularly, position 100lbs, stand for extended periods of time, assemble equipment, and work safely in hot environment Must support the plant's high standard for industrial safety, including all training and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for chemical handling and work from heights Previous experience in industrial food/pharma/chemical manufacturing is a plus, but not required Must be flexible with hours and able to work overtime to match production needs COVID-19 Vaccination Please be aware that Sensient requires all employees starting in this position to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
