Demonstrate flexibility in a multi-tasking environment and dexterity to build electronic assemblies as part of the GE Aviation Power Conversion & Control business segment.
Perform a series of steps in the manufacturing process of electronic assembly, which are assembled in accordance with drawings, specifications and/or work instructions.
Conduct simple test functions of electronic modules, utilizing basic test equipment. Work from general instructions and technical specifications. Apply technical knowledge to assist Engineering in the testing of products.
Work schedule will be Monday through Thursday, from 6:30am - 5:00pm.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform duties within a cleanroom environment for prolonged periods, requiring use of specific cleanroom (Class 10,000) attire (full cleanroom gowns, hair nets and surgical face masks)
Fabricate power electronic product from mechanical drawings and written documentation in a cleanroom environment
Perform assembly steps using a microscope, with little or no assistance, in assembling small components, wiring and soldering, and inspection
Work on the near-final or final assembly of an electronic modules for electronic power conversion and control product development
Follow operation sheets, engineering drawings and engineering change orders in completion of the assembly tasks.
Perform assembly steps in building power modules, with little or no assistance, PC board assembly and soldering, mechanical assembly, and inspection
Exercises care to ensure that each step in the process is completed correctly and that the part or finished product meets the quality specifications
Use several types of electrical, electronic, and mechanical test equipment and measuring devices
Perform acceptance tests and interpret pass/fail or within range test results
Operate various processing equipment including die bonder, wire bonder, reflow oven, stencil printer, plasma cleaner, vacuum mixer, and ovens
Recognizes defects within a component or products using inspection devices such as magnifying microscopes, and CSAM
Maintain a presence in the cleanroom to ensure orderly operations and to support keeping the facility clean.
Perform operational maintenance of utility systems and equipment and monitor the usage of consumables in cleanroom
Maintains records as required to charge direct labor time to specific products and/or assemblies
Performs duties using a variety of hand tools and related production equipment
Provides training and mentoring for other employees as required
Performs other routine operations within similar situations as required
Provides written and/or oral communications concerning a variety of situations
Keeps workstation, tools and equipment in a neat and orderly manner
Understands and complies with all Company, safety rules and regulations
Engages and participates in a self – directed teaming environment
Commit to production schedules and deadlines
Requirements/Knowledge:
High School Diploma or GED
IPC-A-610 Certification
J-STD-001 Certification
Experience:
3-6 years of manufacturing experience within a cleanroom environment
Skill Level Required:
Ability to assemble small components and work under a microscope in accordance with specifications
Requires good manual dexterity and careful handling of small parts in a clean room environment; good hand/eye coordination
Basic materials knowledge of solder preform/solder paste, conductors, dielectrics, adhesives (conductive, non-conductive), silicone potting
Skills required in handling basic or simple tools and/or measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, radius gauges, etc.
Ability to learn, retain and apply training in test procedures, equipment usage, and reliability inspection requirements.
Basic computer skills
Skills requiring the basic ability to interpret drawings, operations sheets and perform in process inspections
Knowledge of the operation and uses of process equipment including die bonder, wire bonder, stencil printer, soldering system, power device analyzer and Hi-Pot tester
Work schedule will be Monday through Thursday, from 6:30am - 5:00pm (10 hours, 4 days per week)
Desired Qualifications:
Post High School coursework or certification or related degree;
Associates degree in electronics or other related technical course of study
Hand and machine soldering experience includes reflow oven profiling, soldering atmosphere knowledge, manual/automated rework processes
Past experience in a self-directed teaming environment
Aware of electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions cleanroom experience
Lean manufacturing knowledge
