The Role:
The Manufacturing Engineering Services Manager is a strategic leader, and the key senior resource point of contact for all production equipment. You will support the entire manufacturing operations group including: processes, Maintenance, capacity planning, launches, tooling, standard work documentation, new equipment procurement as well as sustaining existing equipment, capacity planning, VAVE (value analysis and value engineering), and capital for the Lubbock & Slaton facilities. Plans and directs the activities of a group of industrial engineers developing complex engineering projects. Must possess extensive knowledge of a specialized engineering field. Provides technical guidance and leadership to subordinate engineers. Develops and conducts work programs in accordance with company's policies, priorities and budget constraints. Manages and/or develops budgets for assigned function or department including operating requirements, TPM Total Preventive maintenance program, equipment and material purchases. Provides technical oversight and assistance. Fulfill the Business Continuity Planning responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineering department and those combined Business Continuity Program responsibilities the entire site participates in. Reports to Site Director of Operations with a dotted line to divisional Manufacturing Excellence leadership.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
Provides technical direction and leadership to subordinates using established policies or precedents. Plans and manages SPD/VOD projects incorporating requirements, equipment, and material purchases. Reviews work with sound judgement, overall quality and efficiency.
Oversees budgets and schedules prepared/managed by subordinates. Ensures timelines and goals are met.
Proposes updates / provides operations solutions based on product standards, specifications, and agency requirements to ensure compliance.
Analyze existing products and make recommendations for capacity planning and process planning.
Ensures product and customer service quality
Manage the maintenance of the product approval activities at nationally recognized testing laboratories
Manage the maintenance activities and TPM program of the manufacturing plant
Act as the technical resource for manufacturing, distribution centers, sales and customers
Coordinate engineering plans or schedules with other departments/locals to assure efficient transmission of product engineering information
Interprets, executes and recommends modifications to operating policies and procedures
Responsible for the revision of product IOM's utilizing the ECO process.
Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal and external professional groups.
Fulfill obligations or delegate responsibilities as required by the ECN (Engineering Change Notice) process.
Supervise a support staff of manufacturing/Industrial engineers and maintenance personnel to meet the needs of the department. Provides structure and direction to subordinates to develop complex engineering projects using established policies and precedents. Monitors work progress daily, and actively assist subordinates. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Manage project portfolio through collaboration with Product Managers, project leaders and Business Unit Leader. Enforce/educate teams in capital equipment - planning, selection and installations. Coach specific project teams in project management best practices as needed.
Maintain and update manufacturing routings and standard work documentation.
Maintain and update BCP (Business Continuity Planning) BIA (Business Impact Analysis) documentation for the Manufacturing Engineering department.
Responsible for managing programs of moderate to high risk and complexity. Frequently involved simultaneously in several programs. Ensures all required resources are available
Develop and maintain a recordkeeping system that retains information on equipment down time that includes when and why a breakdown occurred, and exactly what steps, parts, equipment, and/or tools were used to return equipment to service.
Manage large capital projects from concept through start-up. Coordinate and track the CAPEX financials for these investments.
Develop and maintain written programs on production equipment that include preventative maintenance schedules and critical spare parts lists.
Participate in the middle and later stages of the product development process to gain an understanding of the product in order to support an orderly transition and successful product launch. Support product development activities and review deliverables for product launch
Organize and maintain a database of technical documentation related to all products produced at the Lubbock/Slaton site(s). Identify and support data repository strategies and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
BS Degree in engineering, science or related technical field or equivalent
8 years of specialized technical program experience including 3-years of supervisory or lead experience
Practiced at providing structure and support capability within a matrix organization
Shop floor experience
Productive in tools such as Microsoft Suite of tools, Pro-E/CREO, PDMLink, Configured product
Exhibits good analytical skills with ability to organize and implement engineering projects to detailed timelines and budgets with a demonstrated ability to solve difficult problems.
Acquainted with engineering standards, principles and theories
Excellent collaborative interpersonal skills, ability to interface and communicate well with numerous stakeholders.
Willing to direct and receive direction from others.
Demonstrated multi-tasking skills and flexible ability to shifting priorities.
Experience with valves, pumps, electric motors and other electro-mechanical products.
Experience with Industry 4.0 initiatives, facility layout and optimization
Proven track record of improving manufacturing productivity & safety.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Engineering and 8 Years of relevant experience in a product project, or support engineer role.
Licensed as a Professional Engineering.
Production Manufacturing Engineering shop floor experience.
Forward thinking, looking at future opportunities, technologies and has the mindset to guide the business continuously forward toward these initiatives.
Technical capability in areas relating to: motors, drives, pumping technology, electronic controls, business values, project management, fluid applications, pressure containing vessel design, and valves.
Productive teamwork with members in multiple countries and across serval time zones.
Master level experience and knowledge of Microsoft Project Professional
Exposure to residential and commercial building HVAC processes and equipment.
Production support and Lean Manufacturing experience {Lean Six Sigma (LSS), 6 Sigma, 5S/6S methodologies and practices or certification}.
Familiarization with the APQP (Advance Product and Quality Planning) process.
Business Continuity Planning (BCP) certification.
8D (Eight Disciplines) problem solving methodology.
