SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for the cutting, disassembly, and tray pack operations of bone-in products. This position is responsible for the efficient and safe manufacturing of quality products in a manner that is consistent with company policies and procedures. This includes providing supervisors with information, materials, and training, enabling them to produce the highest quality product possible, monitoring records for attendance, payroll, production, safety, and ergonomics, TQM, monitoring and promoting new ideas and encouraging the development of ideas from Team Members. Other responsibilities include overseeing the daily operation of their assigned area or responsibility and analyzing non-routine problems and offering recommendations for solutions to the Plant Manager and / or Shift Production Manager. Ensure compliance with USDA, Federal and State Regulations. Maintain entire operation of their assigned area, including but not limited to, safety, production yields, quality, Team Member relations, turnover and absenteeism, discipline, payroll, staffing, and line speeds.

This position is unique in that it is a complete startup of operations in all details. This position will require people skills of the highest degree along with Patience and understanding of the needs of a totally new crew with little to no experience. A positive attitude and good moral building characteristics will be essential. This position will require the ability to evaluate each aspect of the operation for potential safety concerns and necessary corrective actions. The position reports directly to the plant manager and/or the shift production manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Education beyond high school including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses, or equivalent experience.

Experience: 3 plus years general knowledge of production techniques, procedures, product yields and quality, and USDA and OSHA regulations preferably in a manufacturing environment. 3 plus years Processing managerial experience required in Food Manufacturing.

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills with bilingual skills preferred.

Travel: Travel: 1-2 trips per year is typical. With this being a startup facility, additional trips for training over the first three months may be required.
