Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Fabricators are involved with MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum, machining, and implementation of specific projects. Operate all fabrication machinery and manage supplies required. Knowledgeable in the use of all basic machining equipment, power tapping, fly cutting, broaching, precision reaming, and detail layout. Responsible for shop equipment maintenance and cleaning, including lathes, mills, saws, and presses. Responsible for calculations, layout, weld deflection compensation, drilling and all basic metal and plastic fabrication. Knowledgeable in pneumatics, hydraulics, and power transmissions. Performs fabrication of process equipment to meet local USDA approval and shelf-life design . Able to function with little to no supervision.
Requirements:
Education: 1 year of maintenance experience education preferred (i.e. possess industrial maintenance diploma or currently enrolled in technical school) in lieu of experience
Experience: 5( ) years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent experience; must have experience in hydraulics, welding, and compressed air systems; experience with electrical theory and system wiring; Experience with electromechanical systems electrical motor controls preferred
Computer Skills : Basic computer skills will be necessary to log information, to process daily work orders and to complete required documentation. Ability to learn and utilize SAP and AutoCAD
Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively and basic math skills are necessary to perform this job at a satisfactorily level
Special Skills:
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally; ability to lift 20 lbs. frequently
Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day
Ability to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend and stoop
Repetitive gripping, pushing and pulling
Frequent overhead work
Temperatures inside plant may vary from -25 degrees to over 100 degrees; outside work may be also be needed
