The Rubber Injection Mold Technician is responsible for setting up and operating rubber injection molding machines to cast product from raw rubber material to final product, follow set production schedules, prepare required production documentation, and perform the overall inspection of parts.
Take directions from Leads. Verify daily assignments as posted on the Push-In-Place (PIP) Production Board. Obtain needed supplies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Operate different types of rubber injection molding presses. Know and follow Kanban procedures. Deflash parts of extra material. Pick and brush cavities as required. Periodically operate a Vision Machine for inspection of parts. Complete production and inspection documentation. Post production information hourly to the press production report. Report hourly production rates. Post inspection information every hour. Operate a scale to weigh materials. Immediately report any issue with quality to Technical Lead. Immediately report any issue with presses to Technical Lead. Follow 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) procedures throughout shift. Inspect parts visually to ensure conformance to quality standards (no gross defects) while running the press. Follow all safety practices, procedures, and company policies. Maintain or exceed 95% of the CMS standard production rate for parts being molded or inspected. Knowledge of Positive Recall product. Assist in keeping an accurate record of where parts are being made and an accurate record of inventory by using Lot Traceability. All other duties as tasked.
Essential Skills & Experience: Good time management skills Ability to work in a fast paced environment Able to successfully handle multiple tasks simultaneously with little to no supervision. Ability to read, write legibly, and use elementary math. Effective written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to commit to company values and customer requirements. Able to work independently and work well with others. High school graduate / GED. Basic computer skills. Nonessential Skills & Experience 1 or more years of previous manufacturing experience preferred.
