OverviewnOur Neillsville (Tube) location is seeking to hire an Operations Manager. As an employee/owner at MEC, you will lead, direct and be responsible for the operational performance of the manufacturing activities to produce parts safely, within quality standards and on schedule to obtain optimum efficiency while meeting cost objectives to maximize profits by performing duties personally or through team leads and associates. nResponsibilitiesnA role like this comes with some important responsibilities, some of those responsibilities include:n nn Maintains close surveillance over manufacturing operations to meet daily operational excellence objectives through perusal of reports, team lead meetings, observations and personnel contact to assure coordination and integration of safety, quality, workflow, timely production, schedules, utilization of personnel, skills, machines, equipment and corrective procedures.n Direct and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing procedures, such as training, safety, housekeeping, work implication, and cost reduction as it relates to manufacturing.n Plan and determine manpower and equipment requirements for manufacturing.n Synchronize efforts between manufacturing, scheduling, engineering, and quality to maximize customer satisfaction while ensuring production volumes meet customer needs.n Assist Plant Manager in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives relative to manufacturing operations.n Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards relative to assigned departments.n Lead continuous improvement activities regarding safety, quality, delivery, productivity, scrap reduction, inventory and preventive maintenance by using all lean tools: one-piece flow, standard work, mistake-proofing, setup reduction, 5S, visual management, problem solving, empowerment, value stream mapping, kaizen, etc.n Achieve optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan relative to assigned departments.n Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation relative to assigned departments. n Hire, train, develop and evaluate staff. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Ensure compliance with current federal, state and local regulations. Consult with Human Resources Department as appropriate.n Direct the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards relative to assigned departments.n Initiate and coordinate major projects (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.) relative to assigned departments.n Address management, quality and team member concerns and complaints to resolve problems in a positive and constructive manner.n Act as the technical resource to assist production groups with technical problem solving, training, etc.n Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.n The Operations Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager.nn nWhy Work for MEC?nWe donu2019t want to brag, but we are honored to be the largest fabricator in the nation for 10 years in a row. We continue to have an aggressive growth plan, operating 19 manufacturing facilities that are strategically located near its customers in eight states.nQualificationsnWhat Does It Take to Be a Fit for This Role?nn Bacheloru2019s Degree (BS) in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business Administration or equivalent and five or more years related work experience and/or training. n The ideal candidate should direct experience in supervision with proven leadership skills in motivating and developing people, metal bending and fabricating, IATF 16949/ISO 9001/ISO 14001 Quality Standards and leading Continuous Improvement initiatives. n Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher is preferred.n
