Medtronic Interventional Vascular & Structural Heart (IV&SH) provides interventional devices to treat coronary arteries that are blocked by atherosclerotic plaque and devices and therapies to treat structural defects of the heart.
Our Santa Ana, California location Test Lab is part of Medtronics Structural Heart and Aortic integrated operating unit, which offers minimally invasive approaches to restore proper structure and function of the heart and the aorta. We focus on the transcatheter replacement or repair of the four heart valvesaortic, pulmonic, mitral, tricuspidand the placement of stent grafts to treat aneurysms and dissections of the bodys largest artery, the aorta.
We are currently looking for a Technician II on 1st Shift to support our R&D Test Labs where our primary focus is the flow testing of finished valve implants and assuring product perfection.
As a Technician II you will provide technical support to product testing, R&D operations, basic processing equipment assembly, alignment, mechanical adjustment, calibration, validation and repair based on process analysis and specifications to ensure testing needs are met.
The candidate will have a general working knowledge of electronics manufacturing technologies and demonstrate an ability to apply problem solving skills and pragmatic thinking while working in a high paced team-oriented environment.
Established and productive individual contributor, working under moderate supervision.
Performs tests, interprets data, and develops reports.
Performs intermediate technical activities requiring judgment and decision-making. Work consists of technical tasks that are typically routine.
Technical problems faced are generally routine but may require interpretation of procedures or policies to resolve problems.
May provide guidance and assistance to new or entry level employees

**A Day in the Life**
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.
Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
Performs calibration and alignment checks and resolves out of tolerance conditions; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
Has great attention to detail.
Flawlessly executes testing with complex test equipment and measurement methods and documents results accordingly.
Test methods may be well defined and documented or based on verbal instruction. Performs root cause analysis for test failures.
Communicates well with other technicians who are involved in the testing and with engineers who manage the testing.
Able to perform data analysis, statistics, and draw conclusions.
**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

Requires a High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 2 years of relevant Technician experience in a Test environment and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.
**Nice to Have:**
Associate degree in a technical program or other technical training/certification.
3 years experience in manufacturing environment (preferably medical manufacturing).
3 years experience in Valve / Flow & Fluid Product Testing in a regulated industry.
Previous medical device inspection experience.
Experience with GMP and GDP requirements.
Knowledge of the English and Metric measuring systems with the ability to perform mathematical conversions to each.
Technical Writing Skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge on Microsoft Office Suite and Minitab.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Problem solving skills.
Certified SAP Power User.
ASQ certification.
Ability to work overtime as required.
Ability to work well on teams.
Solid technical aptitude and familiarity with tooling and fixtures.
Change management and technical documentation experience.
Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision
