POSITION PROFILE
This position is under the direction of the Maintenance Manager. The Electro-Mechanical Technical Lead position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties from creating a safe work environment to assisting with production equipment troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining while also leading maintenance team members in order to support the achievement of the MillerKnoll’s business goals and objectives.
Daily Duties
Attends to service calls and provides quality workmanship in a timely manner
Repairs and maintains plant equipment such as, but not limited to, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment (cylinders, valves, controls, & sensors), conveyor systems, part fixtures, servo drives/motors, electrical motors, automated manufacturing equipment, bearings, safety sensors, controls motion, sewing/textile equipment, control systems, and PLCs
Utilizes proper lockout/tagout, confined space, and hot work permit procedures to maintain a safe environment while following EHS/regulatory procedures
Performs Preventative Maintenance tasks effectively and efficiently
Utilizes mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings/schematics where applicable to assist with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and/or repairs
Utilizes Ladder Logic Schematics to assist with troubleshooting
Helps with installing, modifying, and/or updating of equipment as required
Oversees/supports maintenance team members
- Creates/distributes tasks for team members
- Updates management on major equipment issues throughout shift
Creates detailed reports of repairs performed on equipment with CMMS
Creates/distributes detailed shift handoff reports
Follows and promotes GMPs and other quality programs related to the maintenance department
Maintains a clean work/production environment daily and after maintenance work has been performed
Participates in Continuous Improvement events including Kaizens
Required to work other assigned shifts as to meet business needs
Performs other duties as required
Required Skills
Minimum Qualifications
Able to read, understand, and utilize mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings/schematics
Has a forklift license or the willingness/ability to attain and keep one
Has welding knowledge/experience or the willingness/ability to become proficient in welding (MIG/TIG)
Has a basic understanding of PLC systems & Ladder Logic (Allen Bradley a plus)
Possesses interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships within the team and the organization
Understands and utilizes Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel
Possesses a high level of urgency and instills within team
Preferred Qualifications
Familiar with CMMS for Preventative Maintenance data input and Inventory Management (Maximo a plus)
Required Experience
Minimum Qualifications
Possesses a High school diploma or GED with a technical certification in related field
Has 1-5 years of manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience with the ability to work in a team setting or alone
Has 1 year of mechanical, electrical, and PLC experience
Has prior troubleshooting and Preventative Maintenance experience
Has 1 year of overseeing maintenance support staff
Preferred Qualifications
Possesses an Associate Degree in maintenance, mechatronics, or an engineering related discipline
Has controls maintenance experience (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, and RSLogix 500/5000 a plus)
Has used Root Cause analysis methodology
