Job Description:

The Crude Commercial Operations - Lease team is currently seeking a Commercial Operator - Trucking, who will who will work within the Crude North America Trading organization (e.g. Off-shore, On-shore, and Lease). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the trucking operations of our South Texas Crude Business and understand the operational and commercial implications of their desk. He/she will also be responsible for optimizing overall profitability through commercial acumen and expertise in blending, scheduling and refinery operations while engaging with internal and external stakeholders in the crude supply chain – this includes Traders, Commercial Operators, Operations Analysts, Contract Management Team and Crude Analysts among others.

Responsibilities also include:


Ensuring day-to-day crude scheduling of trucks, leases, stations, and orders are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.
Proactively supporting traders and develop a detailed and extensive understanding of supply/logistics and provide commercial feedback and added value. This also includes effectively communicating trading needs to traders, commercial operators and other team members.
Providing solutions and ideas to maximize/improve profit on existing deals and/or explore potential value/options.
Liaising with Shell Entities, Third Party counter-parties and colleagues to resolve and eliminate issues impacting schedules, inventory and settlements.
Identifying plan, schedule, and actual performance discrepancies through quantitative analysis and be able to suggest potential corrective actions through appropriate channels.
Leading and supporting the month end process for reporting production volumes and inventories in systems and for group to reconcile gaps.
Managing tanks and inventories.
Ensuring compliance with various government reporting requirements.
Championing Continuous Improvement across teams.

Requirements:


Legal right to work in the United States.
Bachelor’s degree required.
At least 3 years of related experience in a fast-paced and dynamic commercial work environment.
Knowledge of crude measurement/API standards, HSSE and crude trucking operations.
Knowledge and experience of the South Texas Crude business is preferred.
Proficiency using PC applications, Endur and Qlikview preferred.
The successful candidate is expected to have a high level of accuracy, focus to detail, and quick decision-making skills, in a fast paced/dynamic work environment. He/she should also be able to identify improvement opportunities and be able to embed best practices across teams.
