Job Title:

Production Scheduler - Fowlerville, MI

No. of Positions:

1

Job Description:

Where you fit in?

The Production Scheduler role will fit in to a broader team of 11 people but will be fairly unique in that it will have responsibility for both bulk and pack roles due to the smaller volumes at this facility. The role will be based at the Fowlerville, MI site but will be expected to travel to the River Rouge, MI site 2 to 3 times per week pending the workload.

What’s the role?

The purpose of the Production Scheduler role is to plan and schedule bulk and pack products at a single blending facility in the Americas to ensure that product is available to sell to customers within our delivery promise. This role is key to ensuring a high customer service index (CSI) score as well as meeting internal supply chain metrics such as inventory targets (DIO) and on time/in full delivery (OTIF).

This role will have daily accountability for planning the bulk and pack products for a blending facility in Michigan, but then will also be expected to be able to cover other areas of the US network as needed and work within the E2E Performance Team to deliver team targets. A Production Scheduler will also be expected to work with the operations team at the plant to manage the daily production schedule as well as communicate back to a broader team if there are delays/changes that impact product availability. As such, the Production Scheduler has a very significant impact on customer experience and overall supply chain performance for pack and bulk finished goods. This is a commercially focused, operational and tactical role.

On top of the OTIF and DIO targets mentioned above, this role will have accountability to deliver strong Production Schedule Adherence (PSA) targets and will need to be able to work with both the local plant team as well as Houston based colleagues daily. There could potentially be additional travel 1-2 times/year to the central office location (or another blending plant).

Detail scheduling Production Orders taking into account plant requirements such as capacities (e.g. Batch sizes, resource capacities) and structure
Align production schedule with relevant stakeholders (e.g. production execution, materials scheduler, supply planner) and publish the production orders to be released.
Monitor and take action when Production Orders become overdue
Attend daily production planning meetings to review performance and record issues that will impact PSA and supply.
Ensures that availability information is accurately reflected in the system by maintaining relevant information in the Production Orders and make visible to relevant stakeholders (e.g. materials schedulers).
Maintains regular communication with materials scheduler and production execution to ensure mutual requirements are discussed and met
Proactively support other requirements from key stakeholder and planning team members
Ability to travel to Detroit, MI two days a week – travel expected by car
