Job Description
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will:
Prioritize safety above all else by maintaining a rigorous adherence to safety standards and processes, ensuring that safety risks and issues are identified, reported, and addressed immediately;
Follow methods, standards, and work instructions to:
Perform safety inspections of tools and equipment;
Troubleshoot and repair machines and equipment to minimize downtime;
Schedule equipment outages with owners and production as necessary;
Dismantle, clean, adjust, lubricate, repair, replace, install, maintain, assemble, inspect, and test workshop equipment;
Use and maintain electronic maintenance logs to determine appropriate tasking for new and existing equipment, modifying tasking to eliminate repeat problems or detect defects, and complete work orders for all repairs needed;
Use laser measurement system to verify and document machine tool accuracy to OEM standards, adjusting machine tools to comply with specifications as needed;
Operate simple machine tools such as drill press, portable drills, pipe threading machines, band and circular saws, power saws, and grinders

Approach daily work with continuous improvement in mind, working to continuously develop and improve mechanical assembly department practices to reduce cycle time, improve machine availability and efficiency, and lower operating costs.
Qualifications / Requirements:
High School Diploma / GED
Minimum 2-3 years’ of experience in mechanical maintenance field
Minimum 1 year in a manufacturing environment
Minimum 1 year reading blueprints and manufacturer diagrams
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Ability and willingness to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
Ability and willingness to obey all safety rules including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection in designated areas
Ability and willingness to work emergent situations, overtime, holidays, and weekends, as business needs dictate

Desired Characteristics:
Experience in mechanical repairs to hydraulics, gear boxes and more;
Ability to maintain rigorous adherence to safety standards and processes;
Demonstrated ability to perform inclusively in a diverse environment and to promote inclusion and diversity in the workplace;
Technical certificate from an accredited educational institution;
3-5 years hands on experience in a manufacturing, service facility, or public environment applying mechanical principles in the repair, installation, and maintenance of various types of mechanical equipment;
Ability to understand blueprints and technical drawings;
Ability to understand and use precision measuring equipment;
Basic understanding of math related to repairs and manufacturing;
Demonstrated ability to investigate and resolve problems;
Demonstrated ability to adapt, be flexible, and maintain enthusiasm during periods of change to schedule and repairs parameters;
Lean manufacturing experience;
Ability to focus on multiple projects and priorities at one time, manage time effectively, and allocate resources efficiently;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
