Supervises, directs, and coordinates activities and personnel in daily operations in the production, case room, and returned milk departments Supervise production ensuring accurate counts are produced and all activities should follow Safe Quality Foods (SQF), HACCP and Allergen food safety and quality policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and Safety policies and procedures as provided by company management. Monitor and make recommendations for improvement. Duties and Responsibilities: Actively promote and effectively communicate company values, mission goals, safety policies, loss control targets, and quality assurance standards to department personnel. Create and maintain system to achieve zero error margin regarding productions. Utilize all employees in production to achieve proper service levels Plans and establishes work schedules to meet departmental labor requirements. Establishes and maintains a systems of records i.e.) production sheets, weight check reports, dye check reports, HACCP etc. Ensures that individual machine operators complete all tasks associated with running the machine, including but not limited to start up, sanitizing, CIP, weight checks, dye checks, code checks, etc. Reviews and analyzes temperature charts to ensure quality product. Coordinates with supervisors from other departments to run a safe and efficient operation. Performs periodic random inspections of materials, products, and equipment for defects such as top and bottom carton seals, inner foil seals, etc. Directly responsible for training of all new employees on proper procedures for all activities including associated equipment and machinery. Monitors work areas to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards i.e.) no smoking within the building, no food in the production room, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, etc. Generates work orders for routine and preventative maintenance as well as repairs. Maintains a record of open and completed work orders. Ensures the proper placement of final product in the cooler. Ensures that sanitation standards in the cooler are maintained i.e.) standing water and spilled product. Assists the A.M Production Supervisor with ensuring proper product rotation in the cooler. Develops relationships with employees to ensure a team oriented operation. Attends and participates actively in departmental meetings. All personnel have the authority and responsibility for shutting down production lines and reporting to management when food safety or quality is suspected or known to be compromised. Management has the responsibility to assure that all food safety issues related to equipment, processes and methods have been adequately addressed to assure safe food is being produced before starting or continuing production. Adhere to all DFA Food Safety and Quality policies and procedures, reporting any non-conformities to Quality Assurance Management. Adhere to all DFA Safety policies and procedures, reporting any non-conformities to the Director of Plant Operations or the Safety Manager. Adhere to all DFA GMP/SOP policies and procedures, reporting any non-conformities to Quality Assurance Management.
