Job Description:
What is the role?
The Production Planning Scheduler assumes a key role in reconciling global supply & demand planning, scheduling and inventory management for the Michigan City Powder plant. This involves identifying and resolving key strategic issues across the Shell Catalysts & Technologies supply chain, primarily focused on our key raw material of powders. This position is instrumental in coordinating with the individual site schedulers and planners to ensure both concise planning and execution of the developed plans – immediately identifying and reconciling threats.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Key liaison between operations and supply chain on all aspects of production and scheduling.
Liaison between local shipping and end customer (Catalyst sites) to meet on-time delivery per the production schedule.
Enter and track Process orders and production scheduled for production in SAP and Aspen.
Ordering of the required raw materials and packaging materials by creating purchase requisitions and purchase orders (PO).
Contract holder-role and day-to-day mgmt of raw materials.
Track all finished product inventories and balance at month end.
Inform MC operations as to changeover dates and upcoming plant trials through appropriate communications or meetings.
Back up for shipping of materials as necessary.
Participate in Transactional Quality Team.
Participate in scheduling teleconference between head office and other sites.
Participate and support Warehouse Management, Walk and Talks, toolbox sessions and LOD1 audits (Safety).
Management of raw materials
Work with manufacturing plants, domestic and international, offline storage locations, customers, freight forwarders, carriers, and suppliers
Build knowledge of materials consisting of powders, raw materials, and liquids
Improve efficiency, reduce costs and assure compliance in supply chain related processes
Manage external and internal stakeholders
Leading and challenging the site, while bringing in the Global Supply Chain view to encourage better decision making for the overall business
Any other duties assigned to meet business needs.

What we need from you
The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate / possess most of the following skills / attributes:
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Minimum three (3) years relevant experience in planning or logistics required.
Must be detail oriented and process driven
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work with a Global team
Must be able to work at Manufacturing site with remote Supervision.
Must be able to work effectively in the face of changing priorities
Must be able to self-prioritize in a dynamic environment
Must be willing to take on additional tasks as needed
Some knowledge/awareness of hazardous materials regulations, import/export regulations, and compliance, logistics, and accounting principles
Sound working knowledge of various PC software, including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SAP.
Workload is unpredictable making it difficult to plan and schedule work activities subsequently, working nonstandard hours to resolve and troubleshoot issues may be required
