The Additive Manufacturing Engineer will work on DMLM technologies for aeronautical components, with focus on parts producibility and optimization of the printed part and printing process, as well as optimal design for additive.
The Additive ME will design and validate manufacturing routers and documentation according to company procedures and customer requirements.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Develop and implement manufacturing processes to achieve high volumes production of complex aircraft engine components manufactured with DMLM technologies.
Develop Part Number routers and routing sheets
Supports Mechanical Component Design by guaranteeing the compatibility between design itself and manufacturing process, technical requirements and evidences evaluation in the technological validation process for all aspects related to materials and special processes (DMLM)
Contributes to the continuous product improvement by optimizing existing processes and identifying new opportunities of cost reduction
Provides support to DMLM machine operators in resolving manufacturing process problems through root cause analysis and implementation of permanent corrective actions
Deliver products as part of a team
Work in cross functional teams
Success in this role will be defined by your ability to achieve your goals, collaborating with your peers to create processes that meet drawing requirements, have high yield, minimize risk of deviation/scrap and meet required production rates.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Aeronautical Degree is preferred)
Knowledge of DMLM Machines, Process & Parameters
Good knowledge in the interpretation of engineering drawings/specifications and manufacturing processes
Good knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) system
Digital Attitude
Available to travel and colocation periods in GE plants (Europe/US)
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate at a variety of levels, from
detailed design reviews to high-level leadership reviews
Ability to work in cross functional team
Demonstrated proficiency in written, oral, and presentation skills
Fluency in Italian and English
Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
Desired Characteristics
Mechanical design experience – designing hardware, machine tools, equipment, etc
Six Sigma training is preferred
Self-starter and clear thinker.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to make data driven decisions, cause-effect analysis and utilize Six Sigma and Lean tools
Knowledge of Unigraphics NX CAD is desired
