The Plant Manager provides strong leadership and direction to the plant in all areas of responsibility including administration, production, processing, packaging, quality, maintenance, warehousing, shipping, purchasing, safety, and environmental. In addition, direct the overall activities of the manufacturing facilities of the plant to ensure customer orders are received, scheduled, produced and shipped. Analyze plant operations to ensure that the facility maintains a leadership position in the industry and that it takes advantage of new processes and technologies that become available. Responsible for expense control, including shrink, labor and overhead costs utilizing continuous improvement techniques. Manage key performance indicators (KPI’s) among various departments, daily, weekly and monthly. Implement an employee safe work place by adhering to safety programs and ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP's), ensuring compliance with all labor and safety standards. Responsible to assess potential security risks and to ensure preventive measures are being implemented and routinely audited regarding the manufacturing, handling and storage of all ingredients as well as finished goods. Responsibility for all corporate, customer and government audits to ensure compliance. Responsible for environmental compliance. Contributes to the development of plant production and quality standards. Establishes standards for the disposition of finished product. Duties and Responsibilities:- Ensures implementation and enforcement of Company policies and procedures;- Leads identification & development of new process/technologies to maximize profits;- Analyzes organizational structure, staffing and resources to cost-effectively and efficiently meet facility goals;- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, rewarding and disciplining employees;- Motivates employees and promotes a teamwork environment;- Leads the development of a long-term capital plan for the facility;- Primary liaison with other DFA locations to identify and implement synergies that benefit DFA and optimize the facility’s performance;- Supports, budget, safety and quality program development, maintenance and improvements;- Reports safety and quality issues immediately to upper management;- Conduct meetings with plant staff to ensure all operational issues are being communicated and addressed expediently with a common understanding of goals;- Communicate plant operations status effectively with senior management, peers and direct reports; - Participate in the development of an accurate annual plant budget;- Interact with customers to meet their expectations on operational and quality objectives;- Coach and provide direction to direct reports;- Manage business relationship with Customer to ensure the achievement of Quality, Safety, Customer Service and Financial goals;- Must adhere to all safety policies and procedures;- Follows all DFA GMP’s and works in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements.- Other duties as assigned and oversight to key business projects/changes.
