ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties and responsibilities are outlined below; additional related duties may be assigned.
IMPORT:
Act as primary point of contact for all External Manufacturing imports and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) shipments.
Liaise communications between External Manufacturing and Customs & Trade team, and with 3rd party manufacturers regarding shipment arrivals and clearance updates.
Provides import documents to Customs broker (as needed) to assure timely Customs entry and release. Advises Broker when shipments need to move in bond for FTZ admissions at 3rd party manufacturers.
Previews invoice from shipper to assure mandatory criteria is present.
Request and reviews invoices prior to customer shipments and completes pre-alert check list to assure Customs compliance criteria is met.
Prepares invoices and obtains approvals for removal (shipment) of BMS materials from 3rd party FTZ manufacturers.
Assures proper values for customs purpose is listed on invoices.
Monitors Customs release and FDA release of all External Manufacturing entries.
Performs post entry reviews for all Customs entries for accuracy, including items removed from 3rd party manufacturer FTZs.
Forwards Customs release and FDA status to relevant internal and external partners for all imported goods.
Monitors FDA release and alerts relevant internal and external partners once FDA may proceed status is obtained.
Maintains Customs entry logs and records retention as required.
Performs quarterly Declared Value confirmations of all entries.
Manages Temporary In Bond / Import for Export (TIB / IFE) entries as required.
Assures Importer Self Assessment Program compliance by completing post entry checklist of all Customs entries.
Works in compliance with GMP's, directives, SOP's and other work instructions.
EXPORT
Liaise with freight forwarders for outbound shipments
Liaise with Site's Purchasing, Finance departments & fiscal representatives to perform Customer Planning activities
Place Purchase Orders to third party contractors as per business rules
Issue invoices to markets, and issue required shipping documents,
Manage accurate receipt and processing of tolling fee invoices
Manage receipt and processing of supplier invoices and clearing prices discrepancies and payment queries
Required Competencies
Demonstrates efficient administration and timeliness of order processing and invoicing, invoice accuracy, and documentation management,.
Exhibits an understanding of processes related to supply chain, distribution, transportation, logistics and their interdependencies.
Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with a range of technically, culturally, and functionally diverse people.
Proven experience in a multinational company working in a Supply Chain, Logistics, or Import/Export department, or equivalent.
Demonstrated ability to ensure high quality results as it relates to order processing and documentation.
Creates and maintains strong working relationships within the BMS organization and externally with trade customers. Required Qualification(s) and Desired Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Management or related discipline
Minimum 2 years experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Logistics or Regulatory environment
Supply Chain or Customer Service in a multinational company working in an Import or Export role is a plus
Knowledge of Customs compliance regulations, FTZ management principles, and FDA regulations as they apply to Imports is a plus
Demonstrates efficient order management administration, accuracy and timeliness of order processing and invoicing.
Exhibits strong interpersonal skills.
