Manufacturing CNC Machinist Jobs description
A CNC machinist is responsible for performing high precision fabrication work on CNC machines. Responsibilities include maintaining high quality standards; reading and interpreting from blueprints, drawings, manuals, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances, the sequence of machining, and setup requirements; continuously observing machine for faults or malfunctioning so as to avoid damage to both work piece and the machine; and making use of high precision measurement tools like mueller gage, ultrasonic gage, etc. A CNC machinist reports to a manufacturing supervisor or fabrication engineer.A CNC machinist should have an engineering degree and background in the area of high quality fabrication with use of CNC or CMM machines.
