POSITION PROFILE
Ensures operations are never interrupted due to machine reliability or availability. Actively looks for and supports continuous improvements in the product and process.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Repairs all types of production machinery and support tools.
Quickly responds to all requests from production teams, team coordinators, and team leaders to inspect, diagnose, trouble shoot, and repair all types of production equipment and machinery issues causing manufacturing issues and downtime. Problem solves and determines root causes to prevent issues from reoccurring.
Builds, repairs and maintains production equipment.
Constructs new equipment for production support as needed. Performs routine equipment maintenance and repair. Provides maintenance support and expertise to all phases of the manufacturing facility and personnel to ensure that equipment and machinery is maintained and in proper working condition. Builds Fixtures, machines shafts, and cuts key ways to precision tolerances. This will include all types of machining when needed to repair all types of machinery. Will be required to read and access and understand PLC programs and read Relay Ladder Logic to assist in trouble shooting the repair of machinery.
Performs scheduled press inspections.
Conducts all scheduled press inspections to OSHA standards. Maintains detailed history of inspections, findings, and corrective actions. Will be required to adjust the Gibbs on the Ram or Slides along with other adjustments or repairs as needed while performing press inspections, maintenance or repairs.
Supports and utilizes preventative maintenance programs.
Cooperates with teams, team coordinators, and team leaders to ensure the completeness of the preventative maintenance plans in productions cells (works with all team members to conduct daily, weekly, and/or monthly preventative maintenance). Follows all visual controls and takes action to correct situations outside of controls. Assists in the training of preventative maintenance programs for production associates. Conducts all preventative maintenance activities in assigned area.
Provides support for continuous improvement activities.
Participates as a maintenance resource by developing and implementing improvements to support continuous improvement objectives and activities.
Assists in the support of new program launches.
Works with designated resources to complete activities that will ensure the successful launch and continued success of new programs.
Maintains/repairs all in-plant vehicles.
This included forklifts, milk run carts, man lift, etc.
Participates in standard job rotations.
Perform job rotation with team members to insure proper standardized work and ergonomic safety.
Performs all 5S housekeeping tasks in appropriate areas.
Works to ensure work area is maintained in a clean, orderly and safe condition at all times. Completes all regularly scheduled 5S checks. Immediately alerts team member and team coordinators of all unsafe work conditions.
Participates as a member of the Maintenance Team.
Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies. Coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas of lack of cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues effecting cohesiveness. Actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Associates will be required to complete necessary training program for this job. Please see supervisor or Human Resources for details.
Required Skills
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must possess a current State Electrician’s License, a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate for Machine Repair and Certificate for Electrician.
AAS in technical discipline preferred. Journeyman’s card preferred.
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE:
At least 6 years or equivalent of participation in a certified apprenticeship program that includes work related and classroom training.
Must be familiar with Machinery Handbook and basic Engineering Principals explained therein.
INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:
Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, principles, and tools preferred

Push and pull up to 1500 lbs on wheels.
Work at heights and in confined spaces.
