We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer for a very important client:
Description:
The Manufacturing Process Engineer will support the introduction of products into the Company global supply base. This role will require a dynamic, energetic, self-driven, mechanical engineer with a background in electro-mechanical assembly and instrument final assembly and test.
This candidate will be responsible for becoming well-versed in the assembly and test process of various scientific instruments, identifying design for manufacturability (DFM) or value engineering (VE) opportunities, filling in the gaps through formal documentation and engineering changes, and transitioning that technology to a First-Tier contract manufacturer through in-person training or through video, teleconference, or other available remote tools.
The role will require working on a team and interfacing routinely with peers in the ME group, operations leaders, and design engineering to ensure smooth execution of assigned tasks. As required, the Manufacturing Process Engineer will create/modify documentation (work instructions, block diagrams, test protocols) using CAD tools and MS Office products including Visio.
The role is an on-site position in the San Jose, CA, factory.
Requirement:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical or other related Engineering discipline is required
Experience:
The candidate is expected to have min 2 years of experience and comprehensive knowledge of Scientific Instrument equipment manufacturing engineering and process development.
Position Requirements:
The candidate will:
Feel comfortable working with and around both mechanical and electrical tools and equipment.
Be able to plan, assemble, and deliver training to supplier?s technicians and engineers
Take a hands-on and motivated approach to learning the products and test processes and the importance of quality
Be able to understand electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and fluidic components and systems and can troubleshoot to the root cause of problems
Possess excellent technical writing skills to document and update assembly work instructions, quality system procedures, and test protocols using Microsoft Word and Visio
Have excellent organizational skills, capable of developing, maintaining, and reporting out on project plans and status and managing priorities
Have meaningful experience and strong capability to work well in a team-based environment and promote teamwork.
