If you’re hungry to build a varied and meaningful career in a community of brilliant and diverse minds to make a real difference, there’s only one choice.\n\n \n\nCHEMICAL PROD ENG \n\n \n \n\nYOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n \n\nThe primary responsibilities of this role, Chemical Product Engineer, are to:  \n\n \n\n\n\tProvide chemical engineering support of GI production;\n\tSupport loading and unloading operations for hazardous materials;\n\tProper management of these materials is key in maintaining site freedom to operate;\n\tProvide process control auditing on performance metrics and troubleshooting support to production personnel as needed to identify and correct problems that impact safety, raw material yields, capacity, and product quality;\n\tCreate/maintain process, safety, and environmental documentation, including process flow diagrams, operating instructions, management of change (MOC) forms, etc.;\n\tDisplay expert technical or specialized knowledge to make significant technical improvements;\n\tExhibit some knowledge from outside of the assigned area;\n\tAssist manufacturing leadership in identifying and leading improvements related to raw material yields, capacity, energy, quality, product safety and the environment;\n\tSet tactical plan directions and policies for GI Plant;\n\tActive participant in Global GI Optimization Team to positively impact safety, environmental and production performance at both Luling and Camacari GI plants;\n\tUse expertise and judgment to help GI personnel make technical decisions;\n\tManage direction and results of GI plant projects with significant impact;\n\tProvide focus and leadership to these projects;\n\tServe as a mentor to less experienced team engineers and technicians;\n\tParticipate as a leader and champion of plant and site teams, including safety, optimization, World Class Maintenance (WCM), etc.;\n\tIdentify and report process safety near misses;\n\tMonitor ongoing environmental performance of the plant to ensure regulatory compliance;\n\tSupport execution of Environmental Compliance Duties including area release reviews and reporting;\n\tSupport plant leadership in the oversight of start up and shutdown for major events;\n\tProvide on-call plant support.\n\n\n \n\nWHO YOU ARE\n\n \n\nYour success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values.  More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:\n\n \n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\n \n\n\n\tBachelor’s of Science degree in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of four years of work experience preferably in a plant operation function, OR a Master's of Science;\n\tAbility to work as an individual contributor and as part of a diverse team composed of fellow engineers, operations personnel, maintenance personnel and leadership;\n\tStrong communications skills, both oral and written;\n\tStrong decision-making and problem-solving skills;\n\tChallenges status-quo to achieve better results for the business;\n\tAbility to work on and balance multiple assignments and priorities;\n\tMust be able to perform work in a manufacturing plant environment, including ascending/descending stairs and ladders;\n\tComputer proficiency in Windows passed programs (Word, Excel,PowerPoint, Outlook) Strong safety ethic.\n\n\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\t \n\t\t\t \n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\tYOUR APPLICATION\n\t\t\t \n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\t \n\t\t\t \n\t\t\n\t\n\n\n\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tBayer offers a wide variety of competitive compensation and benefits programs.
