Job Description
As a Future Program Ergonomist, you will be responsible for the identification and resolution of ergonomic issues which will drive the reduction of injuries and manufacturing inefficiencies on GM's next generation of Electric Vehicles, Autonomous and Semi-autonomous vehicles, Industry leading SUV's and Trucks, the Corvette (the most affordable world-class sport car on the planet), as well as GM Defense Vehicles and BrightDrop.
The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment will be critical to your success.You will be collaborating with other engineering disciplines, such as product design and manufacturing, as well as outside suppliers and UAW representatives.

Job Responsibilities:
Act as the subject matter expert in the field of ergonomics on all New & Major vehicle programs, as assigned.
Ensure the Ergonomics requirements are implemented throughout the duration of all new vehicle programs.
Conduct Ergonomic risk analysis of new product designs and establish threshold limit vales. Work collaboratively with product designers, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, etc. to ensure threshold limit values are met.
Manage all ergonomic issues to closure and coordinate follow-up through appropriate engineering team.
Use 3D Virtual Digital Human Model (DHM) Simulations to ensure technical ergonomic options are understood and acceptable for implementation on all new and current vehicle/propulsion products.
Provide communication bridge between operations ergonomics and New Product Engineering ergonomics activities by bringing current plant ergonomics issues to the appropriate design and manufacturing engineers for resolution.
Support the development and completion of the annual Ergonomic Business Plan Deployment (BPD) goals and objectives
Support Global Propulsion System programs as needed.
Participate and lead as appropriate specific ergonomics initiatives/projects as needed.
Provide timely written reports and updates on specific ergonomics projects
Other contributions as required.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Requirements:
1 years of manufacturing experience required
1 years of experience with ergonomic analytical tools
Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Industrial, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering.
Demonstrated ability to organize, plan and execute manufacturing and/or ergonomic manufacturing projects. (Required)
High level of interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to interact with all levels of the organization. (Required).
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and/or programs is required
High level of analytical ability and problem-solving skills are required
Demonstrated ability to work well with multiple customers at the same time is required
Ability to travel is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Course work in ergonomics or degree in ergonomics, human kinetics, or related ergonomics degree is preferred
Automotive experience preferred
Knowledge of 3D CAD software and Digital Human Modeling is preferred
Demonstrated ability to work with the UAW and other unions. (Preferred).
