Global Technical Services, LLC (GTS) is soliciting resumes and assignment of work is contingent on contract award.
GTS is currently seeking resumes for a Plant Operator
, location possibly Fort Mead, MD. The PM shall demonstrate experience in the development, management and operational direction of a large base operations support or facilities operations support program. In addition to specific maintenance works.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in the daily (7 days/wk) control, monitoring, maintenance and minor repair of chillers, boilers and emergency generator and associated equipment.
Records daily (7 days/wk) meter, gauge and chart readings, laboratory test results and other check list information in the daily logs of the plant and pump stations.
Reads and interprets meters, gauges and test results that monitor the processes. Uses this information for controlling systems and scheduling efficiencies, cost containment and regulatory compliance.
Schedules maintenance, operates devices and performs tests so that the proper level of equipment is used and is maintained.
Maintains a parts, material and specialized tool and equipment inventory for repairs to the equipment used at the plant.
Provides standby duty and back-up to related positions for the Utilities
Department. Provides emergency response as appropriate - days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with site
associates, contractors, the public and others. Serves as a resource to the site on utility issues, providing information to and answering questions.

Job Requirements :
Required:
Plant Operator/Technician must be experienced and trained in the operation of and maintenance of the Central Utility Plant
With at least two (2) years of experience in the operation of chillers rated at least 500 tons.
Plant operators must maintain a Grade 3 Stationary Engineer license from the Maryland State Board of Stationary Engineers or equivalent license from other jurisdictions.
At least one plant operator shall maintain a Grade 1 or 2 Stationary Engineer license from the Maryland State Board of Stationary Engineers or equivalent license from other jurisdictions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Communicate effectively orally and in writing;
Fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system.
